Team Breakdown: Michigan - Simon Moshier


Michigan got to the Sweet 16 on a buzzer beater by freshman Jordan Poole to beat Houston 64-63. 

Michigan was 4th in the Big Ten Conference this season. Michigan ended the regular season with a 30-7 record, 13-5 in the conference, 15-1 at home, and 6-5 away. Some of Michigan’s best players are Moritz Wagner, Charles Matthews, Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman, Duncan Robinson, and Zavier Simpson.

Wagner averages 14.2 points per game, Matthews averages 12.8 points per game, Muhammad averages 12.6 points per game, Robinson averages 9.5 points per game,

Simpson averages 7.3 points per game. Some of their best wins were beating Michigan St. 75-64, beating Chaminade 102-64, and beating Jacksonville 76-51. Michigan is good defense this year, ranked 3rd in the country, but usually they are good at offense. Overall, Michigan ended the season ranked no. 7 in the country by the AP poll.
