There have been plenty of upsets in the history of the March Madness NCAA games. We are going to name a few here.
Number one. 16 seed UMBC over 1 seed Virginia. In the whole history of March Madness this is the biggest upset yet. With a 20 point lead, 74-54, UMBC crushed Virginia. 99.4 percent of the world’s brackets had Virginia going much farther in the tournaments than the UMBC game, so it was a very upsetting upset game.
Number two. 13 seed Buffalo over 4 Arizona. Buffalo beat Arizona 89-64. Throughout a majority of the game Arizona kept the score close, even taking the lead sometimes. But at the middle of the second half Buffalo took over and defeated Arizona.
Number three. 13 seed Marshall over 4 seed Wichita State. Marshall beat Wichita with a surprising score of 81-75. Once again Wichita kept the scores pretty close the whole game. Throughout the game, Wichita had good defense, but Marshall pushed through and had a lot of good 3 pointers.
Number four. 11 seed Loyola-Chicago over 6 seed Miami. This was a very intense game. Loyola Chicago beat Miami 64-62, with a buzzer beater 3 point shot. The shot was by Donte Ingram who is 6’6. Donte is a key player and gets plenty of rebounds and has very good 3 pointers.
And finally, number five. 10 seed Butler over 7 seed Arkansas. Butler took the leading score of 79-62. This was not much of an upset, but still disappointed 32.4 percent of people who filled out brackets put butler winning. Butler was in the lead the whole game, but sometimes Arkansas would catch up and only be behind by 4 points. In the end Butler took a 17 point lead and crushed Arkansas.
